This year’s EALTA Conference was held in Bochum, Germany and brought together language testing professionals from all around the world. Euroexam International was proud to sponsor this outstanding event.
EALTA Annual Conference, Bochum, Germany, 25-27 May 2018
The outstanding event started with three pre-conference workshops: an introduction to Rasch measurement and quality assurance in item development and oral examiner training. With participants from a variety of contexts, these gave an excellent opportunity to share local achievements and challenges.
Following the workshops, the usual Special Interest Group meetings were held. In the Assessing Writing and Academic Purposes session, for example, an interesting discussion developed about the challenges of using rating scales and ways of achieving greater consistency in assessment.
The theme of this year’s conference was using technology in language learning and assessment, with a programme offering a wide range of papers, symposia, work-in-progress and posters, and keynote speakers Carol A. Chapelle (Iowa State University) and Torsten Zesch (University of Duisburg-Essen) - both prominent figures in the language testing field.
Euroexam International was proud to sponsor this year's EALTA Conference, which brought together language testing professionals from Europe and beyond.
