Euroexam International is to participate in the Dublin EALTA Conference between the 31st of May and the 2nd of June 2019.
This year’s EALTA Conference is hosted by the Applied Language Centre of the University College Dublin.
Two members of the Euroexam International team, Zoltán Lukácsi and Borbála Fűköh, will be giving a presentation as part of the Assessment for Academic Purposes and Writing joint Special Interest Group event. The title of the presentation is Assessing academic English with a localised test for international admissions purposes.
Establishing the validity of the rating procedure is of paramount importance in the context of international higher education admissions. Objective marking is crucial for universities so that they have a guarantee that the students with the given certificate really perform well during their studies. Euroexam International successfully applied for the accreditation of a new EAP test, the first of its kind in the Hungarian market, which has also received NARIC recognition in 2018. The first live examination of Euroexam Academic was administered in September 2018.
The results of the performance data analysis established the predictive validity of the new exam and developers successfully concluded that candidates with higher EAP test scores were more likely to be admitted to English-medium instruction higher education programs. Zoltán Lukácsi and Borbála Füköh will introduce you to the goals, methodology and conclusions of the research-based validation process of the new exam during the pre-conference session. Listen to their presentation at 3.00pm on 30 May, in Room 12.
Euroexam International will also be present on the conference grounds with their stand – we will be thrilled to meet you there for a chat about the new EAP test or any related issues from 30 May to 2 June.
